New Game: Auto Assault

A new MMPORG just came out:   Auto Assault.  My friend Ray (see previous post) worked on it.  I'll have to ask him which characters & cars he drew.

The game is post-apocalyptic car dueling in gangs.  You beef up your car as you gain xp & cash.  Sounds fast & hard-core.

It plays off of your PlayNC account; the same one as City of Heroes, City of Villains, and Guild Wars.  I've got to go buy the thing in a store (or order online and wait for it to arrive).  Sure wish I could just download it!

INFERNAL !

With the help of good buddy Dome (run by the Ral), Zagig has just gotten the ability to summon an Infernal !

This is the warlock's 5th Demon (or 6th, if you count the flame-hoofed Nightmare steed) and is something Zagig's been lusting after for 20 levels.  When you summon the Infernal, a glowing green meteor crashes down from the sky, burning and stunning everyone around.

The giant rock monster fights as an enslaved demon for 5 minutes under the warlock's control, then breaks free.  He can be enslaved again, or he can crush his former master.  Either way, it's a dramatic pet summons.

Woo hooo !

WarCrack Wear

You must check out the hilarious WoW t-shirts from this guy:  WarCrack Wear.

All black, with /emotes on many, such as:  /flex, /rude, and /flirt.  Then some funny sayings, like:  "Booty Bay Lifeguard", "got aggro?", "WWLD? (What Would Leroy Do?)", and "Nice Outfit.  What's your set bonus?".

Love it.

WoW in China

Just ran across a large World of Warcraft portal for China called WoWar.com.

No, I'm not a gold farmer ... but thanks for asking.  I was reading Venture Wire and saw that a U.S. venture captial firm, General Atlantic LLC, has invested $48 million in Oak Pacific Interactive (a Beijing-based internet company).  One of their main sites is WoWar.com.

Interesting to see what the Chinese players want to see.  Pretty elaborate graphics, flashing characters, some cute stuff, and tons of links to content.

Digg Games

New tech news website, Digg.com, has a section for articles on games.   All articles are user-submitted and user-rated.  The highest rated ones get promoted to the top.

Video Game Music Event

There's a new event happening Friday, March 24, 2006.  It's called "Video Games Live".  Looking at their site, this will be HUGE!

They're showing footage from today's most popular games on giant video screens, with a full concert orchestra playing the music from those games!  The games they're featuring include:  Halo, Mario, Zelda, WArcraft, Final Fantasy, and a bunch more.

It's happening at 8 p.m.  at the San Jose Civic Auditorium (California).  This is connected to the Game Developers Conference that week, but you do not have to be part of the conference to go to this event.  Pretty wild.
